How to Create a Map Zoom-In Intro for Your Videos

Every location story starts with the same question: where are we? A globe-to-street zoom answers it in three seconds and gives your video a cold open that feels like a title sequence.

Build the reveal shot

  1. Open Camera Director in the right panel and add a zoom-in reveal to the shot list.
  2. Start the framing wide enough to show the continent, and end tight enough that street names are legible. That contrast is the whole effect.
  3. Add a touch of tilt on the final approach so the arrival feels like a landing, not an elevator stop.
  4. Keep the whole move between three and five seconds. Long enough to register the journey, short enough that the content starts before anyone reaches for the skip button.

The easing makes or breaks it

A linear zoom reads as mechanical. In the clip's Motion tab, apply Motion Curves. Gentle Glide covers the fast start and soft landing, or drag the bezier yourself for a longer hang at the end. The shape you want moves fast through the boring middle altitudes and spends most of its time near the destination.

Reuse it everywhere

The same shot recut as a vertical map animation for TikTok makes an instant hook, and the real estate agent's guide to animated map videos opens every listing with one.

Fast zooms punish dropped frames. The intro stays glassy because of Mappi's render engine.
