How to Generate a Map Animation From a Text Prompt

Type one sentence and get a finished map animation. Mappi's Prompt button turns plain English into places, a route, camera moves, and a theme. Every piece of it stays editable afterwards.

From sentence to animation in three steps

  1. Press the Prompt button in the top bar, or hit Cmd+K from anywhere in the editor.
  2. Describe the video you want. Try "road trip from Lisbon to Porto, sunset theme" and send it.
  3. The AI Map Prompt places both cities, draws the drive between them, frames the camera, and applies a warm evening palette on its own.

Write prompts that land on the first try

The more concrete the sentence, the closer the first draft. Name the places, the travel mode, and the mood. A prompt like "flight from Tokyo to Seoul, dark theme, slow zoom" will animate a flight path between two cities with the style already set.

Stuck on what to make? Skim these map animation ideas for travel content creators and paste one straight into the prompt box.

Edit anything afterwards

A prompt is a starting point, not a lock. Every stop, leg, camera shot, and color the AI creates lands in the editor exactly as if you had placed it by hand. Drag a pin, retime a leg, or swap the theme without starting over.

When you want full manual control over stops and travel modes, open Route Builder and take over from the draft.
